With the turban fast gaining popularity, many people want to know how to tie a turban for women. This piece of cloth has become eccentric yet a creative way to represent ethnic beauty. Not only is this head scarf fashionable, it can be used to conceal bad hair in a stylish way.

To begin the different styles of tying this head gear is the riveter wrap. Folding a square scarf diagonally, a person places the long edge of material at the nape of the neck. Then taking both ends of the scarf an individual brings them to the front and makes a light knot. A piece will be hanging at the back which is then pulled forward with hair gathered in it then inserted under the bind, after which knot is tightened.

Another simple way of tying this head gear is the forehead wrap. One can have her hair pushed backwards or in a ponytail. A square clothing folded diagonally to form an elongated triangle is then placed along the forehead using its straight edge. With the rest of scarf pointing towards the neck, a person will tie the ends of clothing in a tough knot at the back.

A common wrap is the forehead band. One can do this in several ways. First is by gathering hair into a low pony and tying the material around the base of ponytail in a single tie. The second way is by folding a scarf to form a band at tying it like a bow around the head.

There is also the crown style where one uses a rectangular material or a square scarf folded diagonally. The folded edge of clothing is placed along the forehead with one side of fabric longer on the side than the other. The sides are then pulled backwards and twisted one over the other forming a thick band which is spiraled around the head like a crown. On finishing, the twisted end is tied with the first end at the nape of neck.

The African gele is yet another style. This wrap is usually made with some special cloth but the normal scarf can work. With the material being folded to a width of about six inches, a person wraps it over the head from the back and brings the ends to the front. One end is longer than the other and is flipped over the other twice forming a bow at the front of the head.

A rosette wrap is yet the other look. Here an individual uses rectangular scarf made to a diagonal fold. The cloth is placed along the forehead and both hanging sides brought to the side of the head. One then ties a strong knot and with the two hanging ends, one is twisted and spiraled around the knot in one direction and the other done on the other direction. This form a rosette with tips put under the scar or held using a pin.

This information on how to tie a turban for women provides the different ways one can tie this head gear. To learn these styles is easy though it requires practice to make perfect. One should have few bright colored and patterned scarves for different looks.
